Tallinn Industry Academy

A programme for emerging professionals in the field of film circulation
This autumn, Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, in collaboration with Locarno Pro, will launch the Tallinn Industry Academy to train and support young film industry professionals working specifically in the area of independent film distribution, including online and traditional distribution, sales, film marketing, exhibition, promotion and festival programming.

Breaking Into the Industry: Mentorship Program for Aspiring Producers

Breaking Into the Industry… is a unique initiative led by renowned industry veteran Katriel Schory

The one-of-a-kind lab addresses the critical issues every industry professional faces: how to strategize, sustain, and grow your business (and yourself) in a highly chaotic and ever-changing industry.

Dive into the AI world at Generative AI Atelier

We are delighted to welcome participants to the inaugural Generative AI Atelier, a ground-breaking programme at an A-list festival and market designed to equip film, media and creative industry professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence in content creation and business management and strategy.

Taking place onsite in Tallinn on 18-20 November and online on 14-15 January, the Atelier will offer a small group of 12 people a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of generative AI and its applications across the content and creative sectors.

The last application day is 4 October (18:00, Tallinn/Estonia time).

For the 4th time, the Black Nights Film Festival partnered with the renowned Marché du Film event Goes to Cannes to showcase international film projects in development. Learn more about the selected projects here

European Genre Forum, a pan-European training programme aimed at European first or second feature film director/producer teams developing a genre film project, takes place for the 10th time in 2024. Call for submissions' deadline for submission was 10 April.

Baltic Event Co-Production Market is the meeting place for feature films in development looking for co-producers, financiers and sales agents. Around 15 projects are selected, and over 300 pre-arranged meetings are held with decision-makers. Read more. The call for projects was open until 15 July 2024.

TV Beats Co-Financing Market aims to present high-quality drama series projects with international sales and distribution potential. The Co-Financing Market gives the project presenters the opportunity to organise meetings with financiers, partners and broadcasters. In 2024, 8 drama series projects in development, looking for different kinds of partnerships, will be presented in the programme. Selection of prizes will be awarded for the best projects in the market.
The submissions were opened until 15 July 2024.

Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event Works in Progress has three showcases Just Film Works in Progress (children and youth film projects), Baltic Event Works in Progress (Baltic and Finnish projects), International Works in Progress. The call for projects was open until 16 September 2024.

Past submissions for Discovery Campus

Black Nights Stars is a program launched by the Black Nights Film Festival in 2017. It is designed to help young actors from the Baltic Sea region—Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland—gain international visibility and promote themselves inside and outside their home territories. The program facilitates connections with international film professionals and training in practical skills for their future international careers.

Black Room is Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event's training program dedicated to the visual language and artistry of cinema. Each year, the course invites art department crew members - production designers, art directors, costume designers, makeup artists, props masters, etc.,- to participate in a masterclass aimed to empower their skills and industry knowledge in creating visually compelling cinematic worlds.

Music Meets Film brings together composers and directors; from music and sound creatives to producers, agents, and the wider music and film industry. It aims to build bridges between creatives, grow as an interdisciplinary meeting place, and encourage new international collaborations between students and professionals. The deadline for submitting the application is 15 August 2024.

Frame Within A Frame is designed for cinematographers and takes place for the second time in 2024. The deadline for submitting the application is 15 August 2024.

Script Pool highlights five international projects and the team behind them - director, scriptwriter, and producer. The call will opened on 1 May and closed on 15 August.
