Frame Within a Frame: LED Workshop

In our business, while digital cameras have sparked much debate, LEDs have been adopted much more easily, almost on the sly. Indeed, the advantages of these tools (lightness, flexibility, lower cost and low energy consumption) were immediately obvious. Unlike traditional light sources, like tungsten and daylight, not all LEDs are equal in terms of quality and performance.
Philippe Ros, cinematographer, Ville Pentillä, head gaffer, Henri Pulla, senior colourist and Andrus Prikk, 1 st AC will lead this workshop. It will highlight how the LEDs modifies our workflow and how they intervene in our subjectivity.
After two theoretical Zoom sessions and several series of tests in studio, this workshop will clearly show how to use LEDS, how to measure and differentiate them with their spectra and the new colour index.
Considering LEDs as integral part of the digital workflow, the session will use the grading part as a key point in these tests. With the help of Steve Calavitis (Sales Manager at Camera Nordic) who is providing camera gear for all masterclasses in Tallinn and Helsinki, all participants will have the luck to work with the latest state-of-the-art cameras and LEDs.
