
Tove Undheim (b. May 10, 1981) is a Norwegian filmmaker with extensive experience in directing, screenwriting, and assistant directing across feature films, short films, documentaries, and music videos. She is a graduate of The Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer and previously studied Fine Arts at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and at the Nordland School of Art and Film in Lofoten.
She made her feature film debut with “Twigson & The Sea Monster” (2020), for which she also wrote the screenplay. Her work includes a robust list of short films such as “Quarantined Family Karlsen” (2021), “Reception” (2017), and “Not So Easy” (2013), as well as the documentary “Gunhilds Kamp” (2022), a four-episode television series. She has also directed several music videos.
Tove has contributed to prominent Norwegian films as a second-unit director and assistant director, collaborating with notable filmmakers including Eskil Vogt on “The Innocents” (2021, Cannes Un Certain Regard) and “Blind” (2012), and with Eva Sørhaug on “90 Minutes” (2011).
Her films have been featured at international festivals such as the Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad, the Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF), and the Festival International Signes de Nuit in Paris, Bangkok, and Berlin. She has received several artistic grants, including from the Norwegian Arts Council in 2021 and 2022, a one-year work stipend from the Norwegian Writers’ Guild in 2018, and an artist residency at the Ingmar Bergman Estate on Fårö.
