Rūta Jonikaitė is a Lithuanian actress whose work includes film and theatre. She graduated from the Acting Department of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2024. The same year, she landed her first major screen role directed by the acclaimed Lithuanian filmmaker Algimantas Puipa's feature film Night Screening. In 2024, Jonikaitė was nominated for Lithuania’s prestigious Golden Stage Cross Award for Best Young Actress for her portrayal of Ester in director Gintaras Varnas' production Victor, or Power to the Children. Her theatre work includes performances with the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre, National Kaunas Drama Theatre, Youth Theatre, and Kaunas City Chamber Theatre. Beyond Lithuania, she has performed internationally in festivals in Venice and Spoleto (Italy), Hamburg (Germany), and Warsaw(Poland).
