The Art of Magdalene
A hard-working and religious immigrant is fed up with being used and humiliated. She builds an international art dealing empire based on the ignorance, superficiality and greed of some rich people. Her financial pyramid grows even faster when dangerous drug dealers start us-ing it to launder money.
In 2022 a Polish middle-aged woman was arrested by the Spanish police on charges of fraud, embezzlement of over 100 m EUR and money laundering. Among their victims are artists, politicians, businessmen and celebrities from over 20 countries. Our story is inspired by those true events. We meet Magda as one of 100.000 Polish immigrants living in Ireland. Her life is just hard work and humiliation with a bit of art. Magda has always wanted to be an artist but she wasn’t talented enough. When one day she accidently sells a worthless painting to a rich guy she realizes she can take advantage of ignorance and greed of rich people. She presents herself as a top art dealer from CEE and offers to her investors way more than just an opportunity for high returns, she invites them to an elite club. Magda, the girl next door, quickly transforms into Magdalene, the well-educated, charismatic, eloquent lady. With some help from her brother she builds an empire that is just a smart financial pyramid.

Writer, producer, showrunner. He created and co-wrote HBO’s first original series produced in Poland (Wataha), 4 Netflix original feature films (incl. Squared Love), first Polish Viaplay series (Murderesses). Wiktor is an alumnus of Serial Eyes, European Showrunner Training, Berlinale Talents.
Jonathan is MD of PIO. They are developing the TV series, ‘Carefree’ and ‘Last In Line’. They have produced the feature film ‘Poster Boys’ for SKY CINEMA. They also produced 5 shorts including, ‘Leap Of Faith’ (RTE), that was sold to HBO EUROPE and is currently available to watch on DISNEY PLUS.
Bahama Films is an independent production company. In 2020 we cooperated with 40 writers to deliver over 200 produced TV scripts. In the last 2 years we presented various TV series at international festivals and industry events (Rome, Munich, Odessa).
