Producer's note
From my very first conversations with Vicky, Safe House stood out to me as a story that dares to explore the moral grey zones we often avoid. It does not offer easy answers, but invites the viewer to question, reflect, and feel. As a producer and woman who has started my own production company, I am drawn to projects that balance creative depth with social relevance. Safe House does exactly that.
Vicky's writing is sharp, layered, and deeply human. With its urgent, universal themes, and unique setting, Safe House is ideal for international adaptation, dubbing, or remake. Its primary audience includes 25-40-year-olds, active professionals, and viewers drawn to nuanced, binge-worthy social dramas with moral complexity.
This project has already garnered interest from the Belgian national broadcaster, and we are now seeking international broadcasters, co-producers, distributors, and buyers to bring this ambitious series to life.
Screenwiter's note
Home should be the safest place on earth.
As a child, I binged crime procedurals late into the night. I was addicted: the victim was good, the perpetrator was bad, and by the end, there was justice, relief, clarity. Until one night, a glass shattered at my neighbors’ house. Their shouting echoed in my room as I lay awake in a house that no longer felt safe.
Years later, a friend began working at a Family Justice Center. Her fight for the safety of both victims and perpetrators revealed a complexity missing from the black-and-white procedurals I had grown up with. Her story inspired me to create a different kind of show: an addictive workplace drama infused with the psychological depth of a character driven whydunnit.
Safe House is my attempt to understand why we hurt the people we love, and why we stay with those who hurt us. It is not a tale of black and white, nor is it about heroes or monsters, but about people trying to heal. At the center: a young social worker who wants to help no matter the cost, even if it means losing herself along the way.
