Mild Miracles
Two ordinary people are hired to solve banal prayers. They have to do their best because their employer is God.
Every day people pray for many reasons and God hears all those prayers. But, He doesn’t have time for all of them. So in order to attend some of those “meaningless” prayers, he has his "workers" all over the world to answer them. These workers are not omnipotent, they don't perform miracles, because they are ordinary people, like the rest of us. We follow two of them in Croatia, Mara the fanatical believer, and Tomo the skeptic. The prayers they attend to are everyday modern problems known to the Balkan people and beyond, such as; nepotism, corruption, envy, traditionalism, patriarchy... God doesn’t tell them how to solve these problems, so our heroes usually find themselves in absurd situations with the local folk who live a fine balance between life’s pleasures and trivial complaints. They always manage to get the job done, but usually not the way they intended to.

Danijel Pek is Croatian TV and film producer. He studied political science and film production in Zagreb and has professional experience as journalist and producer in television. In 2007 he founded production company Antitalent (www.antitalent.hr) focused on film, TV and online content, today one of the leading production houses in Croatia. He is EAVE and EAVE+ graduate, Producers on the Move, Berlinale and Sarajevo Talents Alumni. Films he produced were awarded with Palme d’Or and Camera d’Or at Cannes Film Festival and number of awards worldwide.
Screenwriter and director, based in Zagreb, Croatia. His first short film “Kiddo” premiered at the Mediterranean Film Festival Split in 2022 followed by Cottbus Film Festival. For most of his film career, he worked as an AD on advertising and film projects, with directors like Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović, Rok Biček and Gabriele Salvatores. He is Palunko Screenwriting School and Sarajevo Talent Campus alumni where he participated with short film script “Pramenka” in 2022. He co-wrote drama series “The Highland” that premiered at Sarajevo Film Festival and is currently broadcasting at Croatian Television. Also, in 2023 he directed the third season of documentary culinary shot „Sweet Chef“. In 2023. He won Best Scripted Series award at NEM Zagreb 2023 for his project “Mild Miracles”.
