Director's note:
Kingpins is part crime caper, part coming-of-age story that deals with unfulfilled ambition, pride and collective insanity, as well as our attitudes towards money, success and self-reliance.

The film’s themes are, without doubt, personal to me. The failure of my first feature film and the subsequent years of languishing in obscurity made me want to explore the phenomenon of early adulthood alienation in a fun, entertaining and slightly ironic way.

What makes this project special is a peculiar combination of genre and setting, as well as a rich layering of cinema history and an authentic portrait of a young couple’s relationship. Kingpins is the story of getting in trouble and coming of age in your mid-20s, told with explosive energy and a punk rock/DIY attitude.
