Producer's note

As creative producer and writer based between Greece and the UK, I've developed Bloody Bay as an organically European project, designed with multi-national casting and pan-European resonance built into its DNA— culturally specific but thematically borderless, reflecting the messy universality of midlife reckoning regardless of passport.

Screenwiter's note

Why the f*** me? Just like one of my characters—too proud to beg, too practical to starve, too principled to prostitute talent completely—I pick themes I can feel under my skin, mining my own midlife reckoning and those of my closest friends with shameless audacity. Current comedy-drama either skewers wealth or romanticizes dysfunction. Bloody Bay sits in the gap: four fifty-somethings too broke for White Lotus, too self- aware for sentimentality, careening through midlife on a cocktail of defiance, disappointment, and the last fumes of ambition. It's a confined domestic pressure cooker that happens to be on water—offering the sophisticated midlife reckoning missing from current landscape. Nobody's ready for midlife. Watching others try? That's entertainment. And a cautionary tale.

Olga’s career evolved from hand-drawn animation to award-winning international campaigns at Saatchi & Saatchi. This led to a commisioned documentary exploring the craft itself – and a pivot towards narrative storytelling. Her debut short won multiple awards, including BAFTA LA. Since 2011, she has run a commercial production company. After studying screenwriting at UCLA and NFTS, Olga focused on developing an original slate designed for co-production. Her BAFTA-Rocliffe winner "The Trouble with Martha" (writer/producer) is in development with Helen Blakeman (BAFTA/EMMY) as co-executive producer. "Hope" (TFL Extended) was shortlisted for the Sundance Development Track, and "Goldmine" was selected for TFL Series Next. The drama "Alone in the Ocean," co-produced by MetraFilms/ Lazy Sunday and Panache Productions, is set to shoot in 2026. She is currently developing "The Last Symphony," a 360° immersive film with Avocado360, funded by Swiss BAK and Bloody Bay through MIDPOINT Series Launch. Olga’s work has a sharp eye for dark humour and emotional truth. She lives in London and is a member of BAFTA and WGGB.
