Autumn
A bittersweet story about a small town family adjusting to their new life, and some uncomfortable truths after their son leaves to attend university overseas.
A small town Portuguese family have to confront their new life and some uncomfortable truths after their son leaves to London for university. As he returns home at the end of each trimester for the school breaks (Winter, Spring, Autumn), he discovers that he is not the only one going through changes. His father seems to be suffering from a mid-life crisis, while his mother is becoming increasingly anxious about what her ‘empty nest’ life will look like. In amongst this, his younger sister is quickly becoming a young woman, yearning for more independence.
Autumn is an intimate and nuanced study around family relationships and how we all often struggle to move on and grow up.
