Pancho Magnou Arnábal studied Sociology at the University of the Republic of Uruguay and has managed and designed various cultural programmes and research projects. He entered the audiovisual field through short films and has taken part in national and international courses and workshops. He has taught Executive Production at the Uruguayan Film School and coordinated the DocM Campus at DocMontevideo.

In 2012, he founded Montelona, an arthouse film production company dedicated to nurturing a new generation of Uruguayan talent. His projects have screened and received awards at major international festivals such as Sundance, San Sebastián, Busan, Cannes, IDFA, BAFICI, Guadalajara, Warsaw, Havana, and Karlovy Vary, among others.
