TV Beats Forum 2024, the strand of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event focusing on drama series market’s needs and trends, comes with fresh insights as Petri Kemppinen, and Roosa Toivonen, two seasoned experts of international film and TV content, join the team as Co-Heads of the event.

Marge Liiske, the Head of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event welcomes the new members to the team. “Over the last five years, TV Beats Forum has established itself as a relevant meeting place with a strong conference programme and market activities. We do hope that the experiences of our new team members will add a thorough understanding of the Nordic and US markets to the summit,” she adds. The previous head of TV Beats Forum Jevgeni Supin has decided to dedicate to his slate of drama series productions fully. ”We are thankful for his contribution to the success of the TV Beats programme since its very beginning, and wish him the best of luck with the productions.”

Petri Kemppinen and Roosa Toivonen have both been frequent participants in the event. “The industry side of the only A-festival in Northern Europe is renowned, and TV Beats Forum has already established itself as an important meeting point. The first edition, which is under our helm, will surely focus on the topical issue of financing. Moreover, we are extremely happy to be able to join forces and work together again.”

Kemppinen and Toivonen together bring to TV Beats over 50 years of experience in media and the audiovisual industry on a regional and international level. Kemppinen will start immediately and Toivonen in June.

Most recently they both have worked at Aurora Studios and the Finnish Impact Film Fund. Kemppinen has, among other high-profile positions as financier and commissioner, acted as CEO of the Oslo-based pan-Nordic funding body Nordisk Film & TV Fond. He continues as an expert at training programs EAVE, Medici and Alternativa.

Toivonen has a filmmaker background and did her MA at the Aalto University film department. She spent many years working for the industry in Europe, India and US before returning back to Finland. Previously, she worked as Head of Industry at the Finnish Film Affair, the industry event of the Helsinki Film Festival (Love & Anarchy). She has been involved in running arthouse cinemas, distribution, and festivals and is curating her own yearly film festival, focused on films with uplifting stories and happy endings.

Industry @ Tallinn & Baltic Event is the busiest industry platform in North-East Europe gathering over 800 audiovisual industry professionals annually in November during the Black Nights Film Festival. In 2024 Industry @ Tallinn & Baltic Event exhaustive programme and marketing events will be held on 18-22 November.
