Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event has been officially audited by Greentime and recognized as a Certified Sustainable Event for the second time in 2025. The Sustainable Events certification is a quality seal developed by Greentime to advance sustainability efforts within the event industry.

Following the certification achieved last year, the event once again meets the Certified Sustainable Event standard, a framework based on the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development (Agenda 2030) and verified by independent auditors to ensure real and measurable impact. During the event, a site inspection will also be carried out, besides the initial revision and documentation conducted by Greentime, to confirm that all of our sustainability initiatives and measures are effectively implemented.

According to Marge Liiske, the Head of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, they are dedicated to minimising our environmental footprint as both an event and organisation. “We are committed to promoting environmentally, socially, and economically responsible practices within the audiovisual and media industry, as our approach to sustainability is built on these three key pillars. The team is dedicated to creating an inclusive and equitable environment, supporting local businesses, and reducing the event’s carbon footprint,” said Liiske.

Simon Strandvik, CEO of Greentime, added, "The repeated certification of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event by Greentime undeniably showcases their unwavering dedication to sustainable practices. They consistently adapt and improve, whether it’s through initiatives like ensuring accessible evening events or implementing sophisticated waste separation systems. This achievement is a clear indicator that their sustainability work is genuinely embedded in their operations, solidifying their position as a true leader in the sustainable event landscape.”

At Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, we give extra focus on accessibility as one of our key practical sustainable actions includes hosting the summit at the Green Key certified Nordic Hotel Forum, partnering with the City of Tallinn to offer free public transport for guests. Moreover, the hotel and other event venues are located in the city center, close to each other, making them easily accessible on foot. In addition, where possible, the printed and promotional materials are replaced with digital alternatives, and locally sourced and sustainable catering options are a priority.

Sustainability at This Year's Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event Programme

At Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, principles such as gender balance, intersectionality, and s are embedded in the event’s planning and participant selection. This year’s programme will again highlight global discussions on climate change, social justice, and sustainable production. Among the key events are the Sustainable Filmmaking Workshop with Zsófia Szemerédy, which explores how to integrate environmental and social impact into film development and production, while presenting these efforts in funding applications, and Behind the Scenes of Intimacy with Pia Rickman, focusing on creating safe, respectful, and inclusive on-set environments. These events are examples of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event’s commitment to ensuring that sustainability is not only on paper but also actively explored and shared within the industry.
