For the first time Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) joins the well established Marché du Film showcase "Goes to Cannes" with an aim to present 5 international film projects in post-production stage at the Marché du Film in July. “Black Nights Goes to Cannes” is part of the PÖFF’s 25th birthday celebrations, in a year where PÖFF’s industry platform Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event also celebrates its 20th anniversary. Film industry professionals who are interested to present a project at the event are invited to send in their submissions by May, 12 2021.
As Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event has three showcases - Just Film Works in Progress for children and youth film projects, Baltic Event Works in Progress for Baltic and Finnish projects and International Works in Progress - the current call for submission welcomes films from all around the world, with no genre restrictions. The projects must be feature-length projects in the production or post-production stage, with no sales agent attached but looking for one to represent them. Read more about the terms of the call for projects.
According to the head of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event Marge Liiske the possibility to show the project in Cannes will open several new doors for the film and the creators. “Marché du Film is one of the largest market events in the world as there are more than 10 000 film professionals looking for new ideas, projects and partners. Being part of the event could create new connections and fruitful cooperation for the long run, not only regarding one project.”
All together five selected feature films in the post-production stage will be presented to the sales agents, distributors and programmers who attend this year’s Cannes’ Marché du Film taking place on 6-15 July. There is a 500€ participation fee for selected projects, but partial waivers are available.
