Today is the second and the last day of TV Beats Forum powered by Elisa, focusing on the differences in series and film production and presenting exciting case studies and a fresh selection of the “coming soon” series.
You are welcome to join the conversation at Nordic Hotel Forum, Capella or online.
The inspirational day will kick off with the presentation by Toomas Ili from Elisa giving the audience valuable insights on the telco strategy and continues with Piodor Gustafson, Filippa Wallestam, Toomas Luhats and Daria Bondarenko shedding light on the streamers' perspective of making local stories great again.
The first “Coming soon” section starting 11:15 (EET) presents a variety of series in production that will premiere in 2022, the second one, staring at 15.00 (EET) focuses on series from East & Central Europe.
The programme also includes two interesting case studies. At 14.15 Nebojsa Taraba and Rose Hughes will discuss "The Paper", a Croatian show that got sold to Netflix. The other case study will take a close look at the development of a MIDPOINT TV alumni project "Fractures" with Vala Thorsdottir, Kolbrun Anna Bjornsdottir and Eva Sigurdardottir.
One of the highlights of today’s programme is a fireside chat with actor and screenwriter Kate Ashfield discussing the differences in writing TV series and films, moderated by Marike Muselars. The conversation is followed by another fireside chat with a screenwriter and director Pyotr Todorovsky Jr. (Six Empty Seats, Intensive Care) on differences in writing and directing TV series compared to film from the development stage up to the back end.
During the day the educational partner of Stage 32 will host two masterclasses: a masterclass on pitch deck preparation with Ewan Dunbar (Pre-registration only) at 10.00 and one masterclass on TV series financing with Viviana Zarragoitia at 11.00 (Pre-registration only).
After an inspirational day full of case studies and presentations you are welcome to join us at the award ceremony of MIDPOINT TV Launch & Co-Financing Market projects taking place at 17.15.
