Since 2017, Gizay Akdogan has been contributing to the field of culture and arts, initially through performing arts, most notably as one of the co-founders of the Istanbul Fringe Festival. In 2020, she transitioned into the cinema industry and later completed her MA in Cultural Management at Istanbul Bilgi University with a thesis titled The Impact of Streaming Platforms on Independent Film Production in Türkiye: Experience of Independent Producers. In April 2025, she was awarded the Young Producer Award presented by Meeting on the Bridge within the scope of the Istanbul Film Festival. Currently, having developed several short film projects and she has started to her PhD studies in Communication Studies at Kadir Has University, focusing her research on digitalization, cultural policy, and production culture.
