After her hit sessions at Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, Amanda Graham returns to Tallinn for a whole weekend filled with screenwriting wisdom!
On Saturday, March 29, Amanda expands on her comedy-writing session, covering structure, characters, voice, concept, storyworld, visual writing, conflict and stakes, and a few surprising extras – like how could a type of vegetable make something funnier?
On Sunday, March 30, Amanda will first touch on modern script style. It's not just an instruction manual anymore. It's a dynamic thing that brings your storyworld and characters to life. What must be included? And what will make your scripts unforgettable?
After that, Amanda plunges right into what makes dialogue AMAZING. Everything from character specifics, subtext, silence, uniqueness, purpose, and what makes audiences fall asleep. If you want your character's words to be on a T-shirt one day, this session's for you.
Amanda Graham has written 23 episodes for BBC TV and edited or ghostwritten over 90 scripts and pitch decks for the BBC, Channel 4, and Zero Gravity Group. She has two projects with Olivia Colman and Ed Sinclair, including one with director Tristram Shapeero attached, as well as multiple US projects with Shapeero and Carol Kolb (Brooklyn 99/Community). Amanda also collaborates with stuntwoman/director Jadey Duffield on two projects, ghostwrites for two comedians, and works as a disability consultant. Currently, she is ghostwriting a feature adaptation of a USA Today bestseller, set to film later this year.
