Into the Game: A Film Professional's Map to the Games Industry

Tereza Roller-Sabella
Speaker
The games industry looks like a closed world from the outside. It has its own language, its own rules, and its own events you may never have heard of. This session opens it up for people who come from film and television.
We start with how a game actually gets made, financed and published, who all the players are, and how the money works.
Then we get practical. If you are a producer with a film or TV title and a hunch it could become a game, we look at your next move: how to find the right partners, and which markets and events are worth the trip. If you are a writer, director or composer thinking about crossing over, we look at the skills you already have that carry over, where to pick up the rest, and how to start meeting the right people.
You leave knowing how the industry fits together, and where you fit into it.
