Step into the Wild Wild East — where creativity meets courage. IDA Hub Film and Multimedia Innovation Centre is not just a studio project; it’s a new production frontier in the Nordic-Baltic region. A rare concept that brings together film production space, local expertise, and startup-driven innovation — designed to change how stories are made.
The session opens with Teet Kuusmik, Head of the Ida-Viru Investment Agency and upcoming Studio Complex IDA Hub. Teet will reveal how the region’s industrial past is being reimagined into a world-class production ecosystem. The complex includes two large stages, workshops, warehouses, and ancillary spaces, is supported by 5-storey office building hosting a digital and multimedia incubator, plus a two-hectare backlot for outdoor sets and testing.
He will also introduce the Ida-Viru Entrepreneurship Centre’s Film Industry Incubation Programme IDA Hub, which builds skilled local production support — from electricians and lighting technicians to catering and logistics providers — ensuring a talent base for international projects. Productions can apply for regional (40%) and national (30%) cash rebates.
Next, Olga Kurdovskaja, Programme Lead of Tehnopol’s Film and Multimedia Accelerator IDA Hub, will take the stage to share how the accelerator empowers early-stage startups to create the technologies shaping the future of film. The programme focuses on practical innovation — tools that simplify production workflows, enhance creativity, and improve the way audiovisual content is produced and experienced.
Olga will also introduce the accelerator’s 5-stage structure, which guides teams through a hands-on journey from ideation and hackathons to acceleration, growth, and investment readiness. Designed to help startups reach market and investment readiness faster and scale their solutions globally.
The session closes with live pitches from accelerator teams, each presenting new tools that simplifies production, managment, and creative workflows across film, media, and digital content creation.
StudioStack automates workflows for filmmakers and freelancers, simplifying invoices, budgets, and project management.
SyncHub streamlines music licensing by connecting artists and rights holders with filmmakers, game developers, and advertisers.
FinMind offers a gamified app that teaches financial literacy through engaging, emotional learning experiences.
FilmLink connects film crews and service providers on a single platform, streamlining the coordination and management of film productions.
The IDA Hub concept is funded by the Just Transition Fund.
