Dāvis Sīmanis - an award-winning director and screenwriter. His films have earned acclaim at international film festivals such as IFF Rotterdam, IDFA and the Venice IFF among many others. Dāvis holds a PhD in history and film theory. Currently he is a tenured professor at the National Film School of Latvia. Previously, he held a similar position at Aalto University, Helsinki. Dāvis also has expertise in project development, having served as a commissioning editor for Latvian institutions.
