If you're looking for something a bit more gloomy and edgy then you will find a large industrial area in Northeast Estonia.
Oil shale mines, open pits, old ruins of Kunda cement factory from 1870 and probably the most famous Estonian ghost town Viivikonna in Stalinist style are definitely there to welcome you. In Tallinn locates Estonia's most notorious prison called Patarei Prison which now partly operates as a museum. Not far from the capital you will find Rummu quarry with turquoise water, a former prison and a limestone quarry and the ruins of majestic Ungru manor.
