At the Swedish national film awards, Guldbagge Awards, held 13 January 2025, two Estonian filmmakers received recognition for their work. Eugen Tamberg won the award for Best Costume Designer, while Kaire Hendrikson was honored with the award for Best Makeup Artist. Both were recognized for their contributions to the film "The Swedish Torpedo", according to ERR news.

The Guldbagge Award - Golden Beetle - has been presented by the Swedish Film Institute since 1964 to honor outstanding achievements in film from the previous year.

The Swedish Torpedo, a co-production between four countries, tells the story of Swedish long-distance swimmer Sally Bauer, who became the first Scandinavian woman to swim across the English Channel in 1939.

Directed by Frida Kempff, the film’s lead producers are David Herdies and Erik Andersson from Sweden’s Momento Film. The Estonian production team includes Elina Litvinova (Three Brothers) and Riina Sildos (Amrion).

A significant portion of the film was shot in Estonia, and, in addition to Tamberg and Hendrikson, several Estonian actors and crew members contributed to the production.
