Estonian engineer Neeme Vaino is one of this year's recipients of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Scientific and Technical Awards.
He received recognition for the Fireskin360 Naked Burn Gel, which enables longer and safer fire stunts directly on the skin, according to Estonian major newsportal Postimees.
This innovative gel has been widely adopted and has expanded the possibilities for fire stunts in the film industry, making them safer and visually more impressive.
According to Academy President Janet Yang and CEO Bill Kramer, this year's awardees have made significant contributions to the advancement of filmmaking. The laureates will be honored on April 29 at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
