In 2024, Works in Progress has three showcases:
- Just Film (children and youth film projects) Works in Progress
- Baltic Event Works in Progress (Baltic and Finnish projects)
- International Works in Progress
The deadline for submitting the projects was 16 September 2024.
Projects will be presented from November 21 to 22, 2024 in Tallinn.
Before submitting, please read carefully the Rules and Regulations; and make sure that your project matches the following eligibility criteria:
- Full-length fiction or animation film, or live action animated film meant for theatrical distribution with potential for international market
- The project must not have an international sales agent attached*
Eligibility criteria for Just Film Works in Progress:
- Full-length fiction or documentary or animation film for children and youth meant for theatrical distribution with potential for international market
- Children’s films for age ~7-12, Youth films for age ~13+
- We accept films from all regions
- The project must not have an international sales agent attached
The applicants who want to participate in the Works in Progress with a film project, which will be in line with the above stated requirements, must provide the following information in the application via online submission form:
- Synopsis
- Short biography and filmography of the director
- Filmography of the producer and production company profile
- 1 photo or still from the film (resolution 300 dpi, landscape format) for the catalogue
- Provide a rough cut or as much material you have on the film, minimum 20 minutes with English subtitles for preview, please note we do not accept promoreels or trailers
- Deliver additional materials if needed to the email address wiptallinn@poff.ee.
Special conditions:
- Participation for the finalists includes a special discounted accreditation fee of 125 euros per person, which includes a sessions with the pitching doctor; 3 nights accommodation in Tallinn in one of the festival Partner hotels, 2 lunches, public pitch to jury members and audiences, access to all other services provided by Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event program (one to one meetings with industry professionals, workshops, masterclasses, panel discussions, networking events etc). The fee is waived for Ukrainian and Focus Country project representatives within MDM, MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, Hessen Film und Medien, and Berlin Brandenburg delegations
- Transportation to Tallinn (flight, bus, etc. tickets) must be covered by the participant.
- The official language of the market is English
