Hello, Tere and MOIN! We are Moving Images North. MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein supports cinema films, high-end series and innovative audiovisual formats – from first draft to production, distribution and festival presentation. With an annual budget of around 15 million euros, our focus is to develop the regional audio-visual industries in Northern Germany. We welcome filmmakers from around the globe to film in our region between the North and the Baltic Seas.
Our region uniquely combines vibrant city life with vast landscapes and two rushing seas. MOIN’s Film Commission is your first contact for questions about locations, permits and local production infrastructure. Discover what our region has to offer in our location guide on our website.
Hamburg is an ideal partner for international co-productions, offering remarkable filming locations and world-class post-production facilities. The city is home to renowned production houses behind acclaimed projects such as the European children’s film co-productions Niko – Beyond the Northern Lights and Greetings from Mars, the German Film Awards winner Dying by Matthias Glasner and Skill Issue by Willy Hans, which had its world premiere in Locarno. All four films will also be screened in Tallinn!
Through our new development program NEST, we connect screenwriters, creators and producers, both online and offline. You can apply online with your idea, even before starting your script or concept.
We strive to make the German film industry more diverse through our OMNI Inclusion Data platform, Diversity Checklists, and a heterogeneous composition of our funding committees. We believe good films thrive without clichés and stereotypes.
At MOIN we also promote environmentally conscious filming. Everyone involved in a MOIN-funded project helps reduce the carbon footprint by following our Green Filming Badge guidelines as well as the ecological standards set by the German film industry.
