Black Nights Discovery Campus is an international continuing education platform organised by the Black Nights Film Festival in collaboration with Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event (ITBE) and several prestigious international partners. It offers young film professionals the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, develop new skills, and expand their professional networks.

Discovery Campus combines several renowned talent programs: Script Pool, Black Nights Stars, Music Meets Film, Black Room, and Frame Within a Frame.

Black Nights Stars is a program launched by the Black Nights Film Festival in 2017. It is designed to help young actors from the Baltic Sea region — Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland — gain international visibility and promote themselves inside and outside their home territories. The program facilitates connections with international film professionals and training in practical skills for their future international careers.

OBJECTIVES

The program aims to expand the skills and knowledge of emerging young actors when pursuing a career as an international film professional.

• Introducing the participants in designated meetings to a variety of high level international film professionals such as casting directors, agents, producers and directors to enable them to form creative partnerships.
• Offering the participants mentoring and coaching to help them navigate their career within the international film industry with practical Do’s and Don’ts.
• Becoming part of an international family of passionate film professionals.

FORMAT

Black Nights Stars is a 4-day program, taking place in Tallinn, Estonia, from the 18th until the 22nd of November 2025. The program offers one to one meetings with high level industry professionals, workshops and panels.
Once selected, participation is subject to payment of an accreditation fee of 250 euros. The fee includes mentorship, accommodation for 4 nights, film screenings at Black Nights Film Festival, and the opportunity to take part in other Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event events.
Please note that the round-trip airfare is to be paid by the participants. Please contact your local film fund or institute that may be able to assist in covering these costs.
The official language at the festival is English.
Once selected, it is mandatory to take part in the events designed for Discovery Campus participants.

ELIGIBILITY AND SUBMISSIONS

The Black Nights Stars program is meant for young actors from the Baltic Sea Region. The applicants are required to apply through the platform of our partner: e-TALENTA.eu. The application is open from the 28th of April until the 24th of May. Late applications will not be taken into consideration.

RULES FOR APPLYING:

• The age limit is 22-32 years
• Applicants on e-TALENTA.eu have to show their age publicly.
• The applicants have to be from one of the countries of the Baltic Sea Region: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and Poland
• Applicants should not have had more than 3 leading parts in feature films/series. No limit if these are supporting roles.

The following materials need to be uploaded on e-TALENTA.eu.

• A showreel
• A self-tape with an introduction about yourself including a “why do I want to become a BNS?” is mandatory.
• A self-tape with a 1-minute monologue is mandatory. The monologue is provided in the application form.

APPLICANT’S OBLIGATIONS DURING INDUSTRY@TALLINN & BALTIC EVENT
Each Applicant that gets chosen to participate in Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event is required to cooperate with the employees and persons of responsibility of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event during its entire course. In case the Applicant, without justification, violates any of his/her obligations stated in these Regulations, which he/she had accepted by submitting the Application Form, Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event management may disqualify the Applicant from further participation in the event.

APPLICANT’S OBLIGATIONS AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT
All participants of Discovery Campus programs must provide feedback to further the development of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event educational programs.

FINAL PROVISIONS
The official language of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event is English. Regarding all matters not expressly settled by these Regulations, good business practices and current regulations of Estonia and its entities are to be applied. Any amendments and supplements to these Regulations shall be made by Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event management.
By submitting an Application, the Applicant agrees to all provisions of these Regulations.

These Regulations come into effect from the day of their publication on the webpage of Industry@Tallinn&Baltic Event, and are effective from 28 April 2025.
