Matti Halonen has been in the film industry since the 1990s. He joined FS Film Oy / AB Svensk Filmindustri, the biggest distributor and production company in Scandinavia, in 2005 as a feature film producer to set up the company's Finnish production arm FS Film Production.

In 2009, he co-founded production and IP company Fisher King Oy/Ltd. In Fisher King, he has produced the TV series Nymphs (MTV), Replacements (TV4) and three seasons of acclaimed Scandi crime Bordertown and its feature film (Yle, Netflix) and several local features. Before his producer’s career, he worked on over 30 feature films, TV series and commercial productions all over the world as a line producer.

Matti Halonen is a member of European Producer Club EPC, European Film Promotion EFP, Ateliers du cinéma européen ACE and European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs EAVE and a member of International Academy of Television Arts and Science.

The production and IP company Fisher King Oy/Ltd was established in 2009. The company produces feature films and TV drama series for the local and international markets. Fisher King Ltd became a part of the Beta Nordic Studio 2019.
