Dome Karukoski is one of Scandinavia’s most acclaimed directors. His latest film was Tolkien - a biopic about the renowned author J.R.R.Tolkien produced by Searchlight Pictures and Chernin Entertainment.

Karukoski’s films have received 38 nominations in the Finnish Film Awards and he has been awarded the prize for best director twice. He has won all the main Finnish national awards (Best Film, Best Television Series and Best Commercial).

His Debut film was Beauty and the Bastard (Berlinale & PÖFF 2006). Home of the Dark Butterflies and Tom of Finland were the Finnish candidate for the Academy Awards. His other films include Forbidden Fruit (KVIFF 2009), The Grump (TIFF 2014), Heart of a Lion (TIFF 2013) and Lapland Odyssey (TIFF 2010).

Karukoski just released a limited series “The Beast Must Die” starring Cush Jumbo & Jared Harris and produced by New Regency and Scott Free. Karukoski directed all episodes and developed the scripts together with writer/creator Gaby Chiappe.
