Anyssa Neumann is a concert pianist and musicologist currently based in Sweden, where she holds a postdoctoral position at Uppsala University in the Engaging Vulnerability Research Program. She earned her PhD in musicology from King’s College London in 2017, focusing on pre-existing music in the films of Ingmar Bergman, which she has developed into a lecture recital and presented in the USA, Canada, England, Spain, and Sweden.

She has also guest lectured on film music topics at the City University of London, Stockholm University, Hebrew University, and the University of Washington. In addition to her work on Bergman, Anyssa has published on the aesthetics of Glenn Gould, written sleeve notes for Naxos International Records, and taught music history at the University of Oxford.

A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and University of Oxford, she continued advanced performance studies with Fabio Bidini in Berlin and Paul Stewart at Université de Montréal and has worked with Thomas Adès at IMS Prussia Cove. She performs regularly as a solo and collaborative pianist in North America and Europe, her repertoire spanning the Baroque to the 21st century.
